Production of mechanical and hydraulic components - Mechanical grindingGrinding consists of a series of precision mechanical engineering operations performed on mechanical parts and components so as to bring each single detail within the hundredths/thousandths tolerance levels – usually extremely stringent – required by the project.

Mechanical grinding – traditional and CNC, on centres, centreless, internal and on the flat - has, for 40 years, been an outstanding Tessari strong point, the activity which has given us a name as a serious and reliable company, which has enabled us to grow and strengthen our supply relations with small and large customers, in Italy and abroad; but above all, it is the activity and expertise which have taught us the culture of absolute precision as a work method, continuous improvement in search of mechanical perfection.

In application sectors such as hydraulics, on the other hand, it is easy to appreciate that hundredth and/or thousandth tolerances must necessarily be complied with, to ensure very high-pressure fluid seal and flow.

By way of example:
  • for diameters: we habitually work on lathes with tolerances of tenths or hundredths of a millimetre, while for grinding, the scale is completely different and we work on hundredths or, more often, thousandths of a millimetre
  • for roughness: on lathes we reach a max roughness of Ra 0.8, while for grinding we start with a roughness of Ra 0.8 and gradually drop to much lower levels.
